The man behind the camera. We have been together all of my adult life and he is the best thing that has ever happened to me. He can make me laugh at myself no matter what kind of mood I'm in. I think everyone needs that in their life.

He has beautiful brown eyes.

My handsome guy! xoxoxo

He can throw an outfit together
in no time and look pulled together.

Back by Popular Demand

I really had hoped to retire my jeans for a long while but it just isn’t happening. I still have so much unpacking, moving, and re-arranging of our new office that it just isn’t practical for me to wear my dresses and skirts yet.

And, we still have a cold front in our area and when the weatherman said that we had frost on the windows... I decided - Jeans!

Today I felt like something casual yet fun and brown seemed to be the color of choice.

HEART-N-CRUSH - sweater
and thrifted scarf

FRANCO SARTO - sandals
These heels are very comfortable and I
can run around all day in them.

While at the property last weekend I ran across my stripped brown t-shirt and thankfully brought it back north.

Happy Friday!

Springing for Some Color

Color blocking is very big this season and when I had seen Gucci’s ad I was smitten.

I couldn’t wait to do my interpretation of it. I have had this outfit in mind for about a month. And, today I could finally wear this outfit and I really didn’t care that if it was cold and rainy. A couple of edits… purple wool coat and a colorful scarf and I was ready to rock my colors.

XXI - Purple wool coat and TARGET leather tote

I was on a quest for a purple silk blouse and I looked everywhere but I just couldn’t find what I was looking for. The blouses that I was finding were too ornate or the wrong shade of purple. So when my guy found this top while we were browsing in Papaya and it was $11.99... Perfect!!!

PAPAYA - button down long sleeved camp shirt

H&M - skirt

H&M - skinny belt

While in Marshall's a couple of weeks ago they had a display of shoes on sale for spring and these corked heeled shoes caught my eye.

KENNETH COLE REACTION - sandals ($32.99)

Are you or have you already assembled a color blocked outfit? Or is color blocking just too much color for you?

Skirting

I have clothes at our property that I don’t usually wear but am not ready to give up. I found this skirt at JC Penny’s outlet store years ago for a ridiculous price of something like $6.99.  I do believe I also found the shirt at JC Penny’s. Again, it isn’t something I have worn that often… perhaps once or twice.

I still like the skirt, but seem to have a hard time finding a top that I like with it. This weekend I thought the outfit needed a wide brown belt. I kept searching the house for a brown belt that I guess was just going to magically appear because I wanted/needed one.

Does anyone else keep something in hopes that one day the outfit will just come together?

Meet Me on Monday

I love these Meet Me on Monday - they are so much fun! Once again thanks Java at Never Growing Old for hosting such a fun little meet and greet!

Questions:

1.  What jewelry do you wear 24/7? I wear my studs (3 in my right ear and 1 in my left), my two cuff braclets and my Necklace of love that I wrote about. I almost forgot to add my wedding ring... It is just a part of my body - I Never take it off.

2.  Do you twirl your spaghetti or cut it? I twirl it

3.  How many siblings do you have? I have two brothers. My oldest and I share a birthday.

4.  Were you named after anyone? The first two days of my life my name was Michelle Ann. When my dad went to pay the hospital bill he changed it to Nanette. He really liked Nanette Fabray. He figured if he was paying then he was naming.

5.  Coke or Pepsi? I don't drink soda... My beverage of choice is coffee and wine - with the occasional glass of water. I am healthy in all aspects except my beverages. LOL

Heigh-ho the dairy-o, the farmer [wife] in the dell!

This weekend we went to our property for some much needed R&R and while there I got to play the farmer’s wife.

What? We are in the country... no one will see me.

Break Time! I have had these mukluk for perhaps 8 or 9 years.

ANN TAYLOR LOFT - sweater

My guy’s field jacket. Every time I put my hands in the pocket I pulled out debris from his past projects

I have worn these jeans to the point of holes in the knees. I was forced to either cut them into shorts or toss them. I'm just not ready to give them up yet.

Fun Friday!

After two very long and stressful weeks, today I have finally relaxed and just enjoyed life again. The morning started with me rocking my workout.

Just don't really see results until BAM! <blushing but proud>

These photos really sum up my day...

Silk blouse from JCPenny

Hopefully the last post with my skinny jeans for a long while.

My guy bought me these shoes... KENNETH COLE REACTION

All this week I have been feeling invisible but once again I'm feeling cute.

Classics on Thursday!

Today is the first day in forever that I have felt like me. With my office move I have worn jean and flats everyday for the past two weeks. Today is the first day that I have worn heels and it felt fantastic. I still have a lot of unpacking and unlimited amounts of running around our building but at least I can dress up just a tad bit more than I have been able to.

BANANA REPUBLIC - jacket and favorite TOMMY HILFIGER - jeans

TAHARI - sandals and
TIGNANELLO - small Perfect 10 handbag

H&M - shirt and my guy's tan leather belt

I finally got my haircut... Amazing how much easier it is to style when freshly cut.
Very excited that hopefully I will once again be able to go back to my standard uniform... a skirt and heels. Do you have an article of clothing that screams, "This is who I am!"?

My Real Age or What I Tell People?

frumpygal
I don't want to look good for my age... I want to look good P.E.R.I.O.D.!

I'm going to start a quest on what it takes to maintain and improve. I have been working out for years and just recently kicked it up a notch and I’m seeing great improvement but…

I have a co-worker that stated on her facebook wall that she is getting back in shape so that she looks like the 28 year old that people think that she is. I work out on a daily basis and if nothing else… I’m starting to look older. There is no way anyone would mistake me to be 10 years younger than I am. Perhaps it is time to pull out the wallet and make an appointment with the dermatologist.

How are you fighting the aging process? Or are you just letting nature take its course?

Meet Me on Monday

Java at Never Growing Old is hosting another fun "Meet Me on Monday".  This Monday's following questions are:

1.  Do you have a fireplace in your home? Yes, we have a faux electric one. Hopefully, one day it will be converted to gas. That is me getting warm in front of it after a walk in our woods back in January.

2.  Can you drive a stick shift? Oh yes - My father insisted that if I wanted to drive I would learn on a stick shift. And, actually I prefer a stick in the winter.

3.  How many computers are in your  home? We only have two - laptops. I don't share my tooth brush, cell phone or laptop. I know.... weird huh!

4.  Are your taxes done yet?  Do you do them yourself? We will take our taxes sometime this week. We have had the same person doing our taxes for as long as I have know my husband. She is a tax advisor and a friend of his family.

5.  What is your favorite meal of the day? This one is hard... I'm all about food. I can't go to sleep at night with deciding what we will eat for dinner the next night. On Sunday mornings my guy always makes a yummy breakfast of bacon or sausage and what ever I want to go with it. I.E... Sausage and English muffin or bacon and pancakes. He is lovely that way.

Thank you Java for another fun Meet Me on Monday.
